The Benefit of Rosehip Oil
What do Victoria Beckham, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Gwyneth Paltrow have in common? They all report using Organic Rosehip oil. This marvelous oil is harvested from the seeds of rose bushes, mainly from Chile and South Africa, and has a wide range of uses. Reported benefits include evening out skin tone, reducing redness (did I mention Rosehip oil is a natural anti-inflammatory?) Additionally, it can be used for combating acne, moisturizing without leaving traces of oil behind, and because it is a non-greasy oil, can be used over or under makeup. This powerful antioxidant has anti-aging benefits and is particularly high in Vitamin C. Our skin is exposed, daily, to a variety of free radicals from the sun, pollution, and cigarette smoke, leading to those unwanted wrinkles. Rosehip oil works to reverse and slow the progression of those wrinkles with it’s powerful antioxidant properties.
How to Choose the Best Product
This oil has been used for centuries, ranging from the ancient Egyptians to the Mayans and even Native Americans. It’s important that when choosing a brand of Rosehip oil, you ensure it’s organic and cold-pressed. There is no sense in rubbing pesticides and a highly processed product all over your beautiful skin. The color of your oil is an indication of the quality. If your oil is almost clear, it has been highly processed. It should have a nice golden hue! Remember, a high quality product without preservatives, should only last about 6 months. My personal favorite brand of Rosehip oil can be found here.
How to Apply Rosehip Oil
Something like this must cost a fortune, right? Not. This little bottle of magic is surprisingly affordable AND free of chemicals, preservatives, dyes, etc. To simplify your skincare regimen, ditch your current face wash, squirt a few drops of this oil onto your Clarisonic or skin cleansing brush, and let it get to work. Rinse, and dry with a wash cloth. At night, I add another drop directly onto skin and under eyes and wake up to beautifully hydrated skin, in the middle of winter! With little to lose, and much to gain, it’s definitely worth a try!
Additional uses for this marvelous oil:
- Preventing and reversing stretch marks
- Healing scars
- Moisturizing hair mask- Warm up the Rosehip oil and massage into hair and scalp. Wait 30 minutes before washing with shampoo.
- A natural eczema and acne treatment

I’m excited to try this oil. I’ve been using coconut oil for years now but want to give this one a try.
Though I love using coconut oil
I seem to break out sometimes, so I’ll see how it goes.
